Fetch Father Ian Mysteries eBook Scott Roche
"The Twin I never had...." This was how Scott started our journey into the darkness of demons. After the death of a friend, we follow a priest, Father Ian, who was destined to try to fight his own way back into the world of love and light. It is a battle with possession, a battle with guilt, a battle with loss of confidence, and a battle with the loss of the recognition of important positive people and events in our lives. We tilt back and forth in this battle from darkness to light, each of us, hoping to weigh the scale just a bit more to the side of the light. Is the demon real or is he something in our mind that we must fight every day? What ever the battle, Scott reminds us to look at the love and light around us to win, to be victorious in even small battles, and conquer the largest demons in the constant war within ourselves.Very well done. Inspiring.

Fetch Father Ian Mysteries eBook Scott Roche Reviews
Excellent start to a Series
This short story set in Ireland with a priest for the main character is fresh and exciting, making the reader wish for a full length book.
Good story, great characters! The story is built on dialog which really develops the characters and moves the plot along nicely. My only complaint is that I wish it was a full book and that I now have to read all the Father Ian Mysteries.
A curious priest. A sudden death. And a ghost story that just might turn out to be true. Scott Roche's FETCH is a quick and compelling read. Father Ian is a wonderful protagonist. I was fortunate to pick it up here before I heard the podcast version. Both were good, but I'm glad I had the chance to set it up in my head first. Worth every cent.
I'm mainly a novel-reader, so a short story was a little off the beaten path for me. I was pleasantly surprised by "Fetch"! On the surface it's a mystery laced with suspenseful supernatural elements and mainly populated by two main characters, an Irish priest and an American teacher, who seem somehow familiar. For me, though, the story's biggest impact came from the thoughts and questions it prompted. Namely, can we really understand the true nature of good and evil (and live accordingly) without physically experiencing them? Is proof that evil exists enough to make one believe in a corresponding good Higher Power? If so, which Higher Power? Roche rightly implies that there are no easy answers to these questions. He also leaves the ending up to the reader's interpretation, and the door open for a sequel. I, for one, would like to know for sure what happens in the ensuing days!
(Also, fellow nerds look for a "Firefly"-themed Easter Egg. It made me laugh out loud.)
I really enjoyed this short story! The characters were very human and I loved how real Father Ian seems with his failings laid bare. I live the interaction between the characters involved and hope to read more of the story. I would like to hear more of the Fetch; what is it and what are its goals (besides just taking Father Ian's soul) and why it has targeted this small community and Father Ian. This is building up to be a great series with an enticing storyline. I cannot wait to hear more from this bow tied, mustachioed author! Keep it coming Scott!
Scott, you better damn well create the series you introduced here. This is why I gave it 4 stars and not 5. It is an introduction to the series. This story grabs your curiosity, then clamps down on you. Scott's characters are always entertaining. Ian, like all of us, is flawed. That, as you will find out, is his strength. Scott does an excellent job of drawing you into the story and seeing some facet of yourself. Scott is one author I just can't pass by and not read.
